Henry Andrew Harper is a British artist who is a member of the "British Research Foundation". His paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In 1872 Harper spent time in Palestine and Cairo, devoting himself to Orientalist painting, usually using the watercolor technique, oils on canvas are rare.
Similar views of Jerusalem appeared on the international market but always as watercolors on cardboard, hence the greatest interest in this work which was instead made in oil and which is also found on the first canvas.
His travel books "A Painter's Journey to the Land of the Bible" and "Journeys to the Land of Israel" have been published and have gained wide popularity and recognition, as have other documentary travel books from the Land of Israel.
